• Hi there
I have taken over the running of a site and am having problems with the settings and plugins issue

Firstly the ‘welcome message’. When people register and create a blog the welcome message is different from the one on the network admin setting. In the setting it actually gives you the username and password you set up the site with so if you forget you can look again in your email which is good.

THe email message new registrations receive says ‘…use the username and password you register with’
THis is very confusing and unproffesional if people have to resort to using the ‘Forgot password’ link.

Second problem on the same network admin page is the plugin ‘Limit blogs per users’ which is not working as you can create as many blogs as you want even though it is set to one blog per user.

ONe more thing is the plugin ‘Blog categories’ when people register to the site and click to create a blog it does not give you the dropdown option to put your blog into a category which it used to do.

    Thanks for bearing with me.

  • It sounds like there is a different type of messaging plugin that is overriding the default settings on the network setting’s page. You should check to see if there is another email or messaging type plugin activated. You should contact the developer of the Limit Blogs Per User plugin and make him/her aware of the issue. And you should also contact the developer of the Blog Categories plugin letting him and her know of the issue.

Turn off all the plugins except the ones you’re having problem with and see if they work then.
