    Hi,

When I update wordpress multi-site with
automatic network update, is it true that
wordpress only downloads the renewed files
and not all files? Because it went really quick
    from 3.0.1. to 3.0.2.
My file monitor also said only these files where changed:

    wp-load.php
    readme.html
    wp-config-sample.php
    wp-content/languages/ms-nl.po
    wp-content/languages/nl.mo
    wp-content/languages/ms-nl.mo
    wp-content/languages/nl.po
    wp-content/plugins/exploit-scanner/exploit-scanner.php
    wp-content/plugins/exploit-scanner/readme.txt
    wp-includes/version.php
    wp-includes/comment.php
    wp-includes/functions.php
    wp-includes/ms-files.php
    wp-includes/load.php
    wp-includes/post.php
    wp-includes/canonical.php
    wp-includes/capabilities.php
    wp-includes/wp-db.php
    wp-admin/error_log
    wp-admin/setup-config.php
    wp-admin/plugins.php
    wp-admin/includes/media.php
    wp-admin/includes/file.php
    wp-admin/includes/plugin.php
    wp-admin/includes/update-core.php

    Kind regards,

    Jaap

I’m sorry I don’t mean network update, I mean automatic core update. You have to click the network update after the core update.

When I do automatic core update the above thing happens. So does automatic upgrade just chooses changed file from the server and rewrites them? Looks like it? Is that ok?

Yes, that’s what it does. Yes that is okay.

Why reinstall files that haven’t changed?

That’s true that also saves time instead of manual install.
