    Hi,

I followed the instructions here to create a Neve mega menu: https://docs.themeisle.com/article/964-neve-mega-menu-setup

It works great in desktop view and almost in mobile view. The issue I have is with the main items with link pointing to #. When in mobile, clicking the main text does not open the list of subitems. You can access the subitems with clikcing the dropdown-icon, but clicking the main text does nothing.

    Hello @jeskiv ,

    Thank you for choosing Neve!

We implemented the feature like this in the sense that the “parent” can also be a link so if you would click it, instead of unveiling the drop down, it would send the user to another page. That’s why we only made the arrow clickable to expand the drop down.

As a workaround you could make the child items auto expand once mobile view is active by going to Customizer -> Header -> Change Menu -> And toggle the “Expand first level of dropdowns when menu is in mobile menu content.”

Please let us know if this answer was helpful!

Thank you and have a great day!

    Hi,

Thank you for a quick reply! I can try the functionality suggested.

But still in desktop view you can have the main links so that they are not links but open the menu. Would be nice to have the functionality to be the same in mobile. Why is it possible to have the functionality in desktop view but not in mobile?

    Hello @jeskiv ,

Mobile phones don’t use hover states as they are operated by touch. In the case of the Neve desktop menu, the dropdown appears once the user hovers with their mouse over the parent link. This cannot be replicated on mobile and that’s why a clickable event is needed on mobile to access features like this.

All this being said we do take our users feedback in consideration when implementing new features. If more users desire this functionality we will try and implement it in future releases.

Thank you for your feedback and have an amazing day!

Yes thanks. I somehow thought it also appears on click in desktop view. So this means it does not work on tablets either (apart from clicking the down-arrow)?

I was thinking it would recognize the link to pointing # and it would make those elements work so, that also onclick would open the menu.

    Thanks for you reply!

    Hello @jeskiv ,

Yes mobile and tablet devices work on the same principle of onclick events (touching the screen), lacking hover states at the moment.

As for the way the Neve Mega Menu is working on mobile with it’s child sub-menus, we implemented it this way in case someone want’s to use the parent link as an actual link directing to another page. If an user would click the parent link in the mobile menu, it would redirect to another page instead of opening the sub-menu, thus the drop down arrow appeared as a way of keeping the theme lightweight and also practical.

Thank you for all your input and have an amazing day!
