• I have screenshots for anyone interested. I installed this plugin with intention of using the Social Publisher so I could automatically post new blog posts to the Facebook Page.

First problem I ran into was Step 3. Authenticate with Facebook to allow your Facebook application to post to your Timeline or Page on your behalf when a post is published. Followed by a red x.

No instructions on how to do this. Nothing to click on to authenticate etc.etc. Went through all the settings again on the Facebook app and made sure all areas were filled in correctly as far as namespace, url, and mobile url.

App ID and App secret were filled out on the WP plugin side.

Second problem I ran into (most likely related to the first) was when clicking on the link Add a Facebook account to your WordPress account after Publish to a Page it redirected me to the profile page. At the bottom of the profile page there was a section for Facebook Account. Under that it said Get started. But there was nothing else to click on or fill in, and Get started didn’t link anywhere. Just two text words – Get started… Ummmmm okay… would love to! So…..?!?!!? What now?!

Below that the button to Update Profile.

Very unpolished plugin. I expected a lot more from a huge company like Facebook who no doubt has teams of developers. Highly disappointing plugin. Don’t recommend.

The Facebook plugin for WordPress uses Facebook Login to connect your WordPress site with a Facebook app and individual WordPress users with their Facebook accounts. Facebook Login has minimum requirements of an application such as describing the application, why it wants your Facebook account information, and links to a privacy policy or terms of service. Facebook Login functionality will not work for your site without first setting up a Facebook account for Login.

You may view the debug section under the Facebook settings in your WordPress admin menu to highlight some of the fields Facebook Login requires before your website may ask for someone’s Facebook profile information or ask to post to their profile.
