New Admin to Existing Webpage

  • I am a new admin and cannot gain access to our webpage with the information that was provided to me https://yimcal.org/wp-admin/

    The message I receive is:

    Error 403 – Forbidden
    You don’t have permission to access the requested resource. Please contact the web site owner for further assistance.

    We are the sites owner, i think. I am the new Executive Director and was given login info for all our IT accounts, including the website. I have an appointment with someone to assist with making changes and cannot get in on the back end.

    Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of your current version of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    So now I am officially confused ??

    Do I need download something on my laptop to be able to access? I am not able to access anything related to the site.

    Contact your hosts for assistance with FTP.
