• Hi there all!

    Just like to announce that Amazon Media Manager 1.5 for WordPress is now available from https://www.sozu.co.uk/software/amm/

    It’s been a while in coming, but the new version is so far improved from the old one it hardly seems fit to call it 1.5, it should be 5.0 or something BUT, to stay in synch with the wordpress value for which it’s designed we went with 1.5

    The new system has:

    * Inbuilt search
    * Options page for, well, options
    * So many configurable ways to output stuff you’ll hopefully be able to do anything!
    * Support for displaying items in posts using quicktags
    * Go and get it now. ??

    Seriously, head over to https://www.sozu.co.uk/software/amm/ and grab a copy, there might be one or two little bugs we’ve not squashed but on the whole it should be all good.

    Sozu doesn’t have a forum or comment system yet, so for the meantime, keep your eyes on these forums and on https://www.denyerec.co.uk/index.php?p=198 where you can comment for the time being.

    If it calls for it, we’ll start a support thread in here too.

    Enjoy!

    ** PLEASE NOTE**
    Due to our host, occasionally you may get “Document Contains No Data” when trying to access the Sozu website.

    If this happens, just try again a few minutes later, they’re working out some issues.

    Please take a look at my sidebar on https://www.denyerec.co.uk and tell me if this is what you mean.

    If so, then it’s all down to your output template and CSS. I can send you a copy of mine for you to look at if thi sis what you’re after.

    Denyerec – Yes! That’s exactly what I’m trying to do! That would be so wonderful if you sent a copy of your output template and CSS to me. My email is amadai [a] gmail.com

    Thank you. ??

    Anyone know of a way to have the ouput in a vertical list in one theme and horizontally in another theme. I think the <li></li> tags are in the plugin itself?

    The vertical list in the sidebar is working fine in my current theme. It is trying to get the horizontal layout that is driving me nuts!

    Thanks if anyone can assist.

    All the AMM output markup is contained within the amm_extras.php file, which acts as a template for your output.

    All you have to do is create a new template according to the instructions, and call this new template instead of the amm_default_output one.

    Instructions can be found here:

    https://www.sozu.co.uk/software/amm/editing_templates.php

    If you want the template to change depending on some blog flag, like theme or suchlike, there’s nothing to stop you putting a few conditional statements in the amm output template! ??

    Also don’t forget to support AMM with a link, button or banner. https://www.sozu.co.uk/software/amm/buttons.php

    You know it’s been too long when you have to read your own documentation to answer a support question.

    From the guide at https://www.sozu.co.uk/software/amm/getmedia_function.php

    You’ll want this call:

    amm_getMedia(‘amm_default_output’,1,AMM_BOOKS|AMM_DVD,AMM_RANDOM);

    THat will give you one randomly selected item from the specified categories BOOKS and DVD. Don’t forget to put the name of your custom template in there in place of amm_default_output.

    The section of the helpfile most pertinent to your question is the section on “groups”, for future reference.

    The answer may be burried within these 5 pages of posts but I can’t find it.

    When I use the ‘large’ image I get a white area around my item picture. Since my background is not white this looks very odd to me. Is there a fix for this?

    default output here:
    https://archshrk.com/what-to-read

    Is there a way to get the “rating” to not display?

    That requires a custom template. Open wp-content/plugins/amm/amm_extras.php and modify the call for the ratings (ie delete it) for the amm template you are using (amm-default-output)

    This is the line to remove
    ‘<?php echo $amm->rating();?>’

    I just tried a completely new install of this plugin with WP 2.01 and I am getting an error. Here it is.

    WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near ‘-_wp’ at line 1]
    SHOW TABLES FROM mywebsite_com_-_wp;

    Warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/amm.php on line 41

    I took a look at the file to see what seems to be the problem.

    Line 41 looks like this…

    if (!in_array($table_name, $tables)) {

    Any ideas how to fix this?

    I was hoping someone would be able to help me with this:

    I’d like to list my reviews on one page, but i want it to be listed by month for example,

    JANUARY 2006

    date – rating image – name of book/movie

    DECEMBER 2005

    date – rating image – name of book/movie

    Can anyone please help with the template?

    FOR CLARIFICATION:

    I was able to setup the date/rating image/name in the template…but the main issue is:

    SORTING BY MONTH

    Not sure if this is what you wanted but try changing the date format… $amm->date('Y-m-d H:i:s');
    Look here for formats https://uk2.php.net/date
    then output for each month/year using a seperate tag for each adding a title for each as needed within the page itself.

    Hello everyone,

    I tried installing the plugin a few times, but I always get the same result when i search for products on the manage page:

    “connect() timed out!

    Search was successful”

    However, there are no results displayed.

    Any idea what is up guys?
