New AMP issue detected for site

What is the error?

logo: A value for the logo field is required.

You can fix this simply by adding a site icon for your site in the Customizer (in the Site Identity section).

I added a site icon/favicon in the site identity but when I click on “Validate fix” within google search console a window pops up saying:

“Cannot continue validation process
Affected pages were found. Fix the issue and run validation again


but there is a site icon (and there was one before, it’s strange how/why it disappeared!) and it is the size specified of 512×512 pixels.
I don’t understand why google search console can’t see that it’s fixed?

I think you need to add a featured image to the posts. That will populate the required image Schema.org field.
