I updated Woocommerce from the LEgacy API to the new API and Enabled Compatibility Mode. I also checked Enable compatibility Mode and Sync orders. I now am getting duplicate order emails sent to the customer and duplicate emails sent to the Admin for each order. In the order notes it shows two Stripe Charge complete, two Order Status changed from Pending payment to Processing. The good news is that it only charges the customer once. Please help.

  • Hey there, @woopixel! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

To confirm, does this only happens with Stripe or does it also happens when other payment gateways are used?

If you don’t know, do you mind enabling Cash On Delivery and making a test order with it to check if the issue persists?

Please let us know how it goes.

And can you please confirm which Stripe plugin you are using?

    Thank you!

    Have a wonderful day!

I’m only using WooCommerce Stripe Gateway Version 8.5.2.?I can’t reproduce the error when making a test order with Stripe. It doesn’t happen to every live order. I have selected Woocommerce > Advanced > Features > High-performance order storage, Enable Compatibility mode. Any suggestions?

    Hey, @woopixel!

I’m only using WooCommerce Stripe Gateway Version 8.5.2.?

    Thanks for confirming!

We are currently investigating an issue with Stripe which is causing it to send duplicated notifications.

We are doing our best to fix it as soon as possible.

We can’t specify a date when this will be fixed, it is still in progress. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, and we thank you for your patience.

You can follow the GitHub report here if you want to get updates on the progress.

For now, most users affected by this reported the issue stopped happening if they switched to the legacy checkout, which is the workaround for now.

To do that you can go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Settings and check the box to enable the legacy checkout and save the changes.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!
