I have tested this on a brand new install, using the default theme and with no other plugins activated, and I still get the same problem.

It happens after activating the plugin, when I try to create a new category on any kind of post (not just in the media library). When I click the blue “add new category” button (after adding name and slug obviously) nothing happens except the “progress” icon starts spinning – the page never refreshes with the new category showing. It doesn’t matter how long I wait. Eventually, if I give up waiting and reload the page, the new category has been added, it is just that the page never reloads.

If I deactivate the plugin, it all starts working normally again.

    It’s on mamp so I don’t have a URL I can share.

PS: That last sentence made me think – it turns out this problem only occurs on mamp, once I upload to a public server the problem seems to go away. So it is not such a problem after all – but I’ll leave this message here anyway for future reference.

    Hello,

Thank you for informing me. Could you please let me know your WP version and your PHP version (on MAMP)?

    Best,

I think the mamp php is 7.2.34, and the wordpress is 5.6.2.

Thanks. Should be working. Maybe some specific settings on your MAMP?

Actually, I can’t imagine how EML can affect category creation since it just registers custom taxonomies with the built-in WordPress function. Maybe it was just a coincidence? Could you please check it one more time with EML active and inactive?

    Best,
    -Nadia
