New content not displayed unless refresh…

  • I have a website with daily updates – up until a day or two ago when new content is posted the homepage would automatically display – ie if typing the url in a browser the new content would be displayed –

    The homepage consists of Post titles linking to the posts with brief snippet…

    Now… the only way new content can be seen is by ‘refreshing’ the url… ie in Chrome…

  • This is down to caching and is normal. Your browser will cache content by default so that it doesn’t have to re-load content it has already loaded.

    The only way around this is to tell the site to force the browser cache to be cleared whenever you update the site.
    You will need to use a caching plugin for this, which will also speed up your website as well.
