Apologies if I missed a thread covering this issue already, couldn’t find it by searching.
Our website/podcast moved hosting to Libsyn a few weeks ago but chose to continue to publish podcast episodes on website to stream (podcast is a secondary product of ours). New podcasts we create now don’t show on our main feed on website.
Eg. We moved to Libsyn after episode 25 was published. We are up to episode 30 now and we have loaded every episode into wordpress and people can access these via each individual URL but new ones since shifting to Libsyn aren’t showing here: https://www.sweatelite.co/podcast/
New episode published last week, URL working but not displaying on main feed: https://www.sweatelite.co/podcast/kilian-jornet-part-1/
Divi Customer service do not know how to fix this. Any ideas?

  • Hello @theathletediaries,

This could be due to a limit in the number of episodes set to display in your RSS feed. In the WordPress dashboard, go to Settings > Reading > Syndication feeds show the most recent. Make sure the number here is larger than 30 and you should be able to see all of your episodes display in the RSS feed. If that does not work for you please let us know.

    Thanks for the response Eileen.
Number in this section is 50.
    Any other ideas?

Hi @theathletediaries I’m seeing the Episode 30 you reference in your main feed here: https://www.sweatelite.co/feed/podcast/ – is that the feed you’re referring to where episodes weren’t appearing? Looks like there are 33 episodes there overall.

Generally if you’re not seeing episodes appear in your feed you’ll want to ensure that there is a valid media file URL in the “Podcast Episode Details” metabox below the main post editor. That looks ok from the episodes I looked at, but just as a troubleshooting tip.

    Hi Craig,
Thanks for the response. Solved this one last night.
When uploading individual episodes, in the field “Podcast File. Upload the primary podcast file or paste the file URL here.” something must be entered for it to show up on the main feed. If left blank, it won’t show on the main feed.
I had been leaving it blank as I had been using Libysn’s embed code for each podcast file.

Hi there, yes that sounds right. Even when using the Podcast post type there has to be a valid media file URL in the Podcast Episode Details metabox or the post won’t be included in the feed or the /podcast page.

Will mark this as closed now, but if we can do anything else to help just let us know.
