Hi – I had a feed uploaded and working fine on itunes/spotify/stitcher, but when trying to upload a second episode, nothing seems to show up. Opening up the RSS feed in another browser also shows only the first episode, despite both showing up as normal on the “podcasts” section of WP. Not sure why this is, and was expecting it to show up automatically once new episode was added?

    Thanks!

Hi @jran in looking at your feed here https://worldofhotspur.com/feed/podcast/ it seems that both episodes are in the feed. I ran your feed through Cast Feed Validator and aside from the error message about the invalid category all looks good (https://castfeedvalidator.com/?url=https://worldofhotspur.com/feed/podcast/) you’ll likely want to change the categories so both the Primary and Secondary categories are compliant with Apple Podcasts, and then you should be all set.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Craig, I’d replied to you via email, not sure if it went through. In any case, appreciate the swift response and for checking on the issue.
Typically how long should it take for an episode to appear on itunes/spotify?

    Thanks!

Hi @jran it looks like all of the 3 episodes you have live in your feed are in Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/world-of-hotspur/id1514350284 – is that what you’re referring to?

Spotify ought to pull from that same feed URL if that’s how you submitted your show to their platform.

Are you not seeing all of your episodes there or in another directory as you’d expect?

Hi Craig – yes I am seeing them all now. The issue I had was the last episode for some reason took over 48hrs to appear. Previous episodes had not taken that long so was wondering what was going on.

    Thanks!

Yeah from time to time Apple in particular can take several hours (haven’t heard of 48 hours before) to show episodes. Main thing to check in situations like this is whether the episode is showing up in your feed and that your feed is still valid. we use castfeedvalidator.com and podba.se to check the validity of feeds as both show slightly different info. If the episode is in the feed and the feed is valid you’ve done everything you can to ensure the episode is “out there” and ready for directories like Apple to pick up.
