I have sent info and replies to 2 people but get no response. Then someone closed the thread saying it is resolved. NOT RESOLVED

Re-saving and flushing permalinks does not work.? I added a test event and got the same issue.

Your site said to add a snippet to functions.php.? I have several files with that name.?

    /public_html/wp-content/themes/sport/functions.php

    /public_html/wp-content/themes/twentytwentyfour/functions.php

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/worker/functions.php

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/vendor/woocommerce/action-scheduler/functions.php

    Hi @btinavc

Thanks for your message. Would it be possible for you to set up a staging version of your live site and try to re-do the migration from there? This is to recreate the proper event data and should fix the 404 issues.

Here are the steps to revert and re-do the migration:

    1. Update to the latest versions of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro.
    2. Remove any un-needed draft events and empty the Trash.
    3. Activate only our plugins and use the 2020 theme.
    4. Make sure server-side caching is disabled temporarily while you’re migrating your events.
    5. Install and activate the Code Snippets plugin.
    6. Add this snippet and run it once (be sure it does not stay activated).
    7. Go to Events > Settings > Upgrades and go through the migration process again.

Please re-do the migration on your staging site.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi,

PLEASE answer these 2 simple questions before  I go any further.

    Your website says

Try pasting this snippet in your functions.php file. This fixes a unique conflict with some plugins/themes. This conflict causes all Single Events pages to be silently searching for a media attachment instead of an event. Thus you see a generic 404 since the attachment does not usually exist.

    Found here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/

WHICH FILE DOES IT GO IN?

    I have all these:

    /public_html/wp-content/themes/sport/functions.php

    /public_html/wp-content/themes/twentytwentyfour/functions.php

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/worker/functions.php

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/vendor/woocommerce/action-scheduler/functions.php

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/vendor/woocommerce/action-scheduler/deprecated/functions.php

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/deprecated/functions.php

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Integrations/Hello_Elementor/hello-elementor-functions.php

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/contact-form-functions.php

NEW EVENTS DO  NOT SHOW YEAR IN THE PLUG IN

    Is this the problem?

    Thanks,

    Tina

    Hi @btinavc,

You should insert that snippet on your current active theme’s function file. Based on the paths you’ve sent there are two of them.

If you’re using Sport theme then kindly add it here → /public_html/wp-content/themes/sport/functions.php

Or here → /public_html/wp-content/themes/twentytwentyfour/functions.php, if you’re using TweentyTwenty Four if you’re using TwentyTwenty Four.

As for the second question, I am just curious if that issue exists on calendar views or on its single pages. Can you provide more details like screenshots for us to have a better grasp on how things went on your end? Do you have any caching plugins or services installed? If yes, kindly temporarily disable them to see if it resolves the issue.

I would like to add that please do not share any credentials or any sensitive information on your screenshots/recordings, this is for us to follow the?WordPress Forum Guidelines and for your safety as well.

If you haven’t fully migrated to version 6 your calendar needs an upgrade, kindly follow what my colleague suggested.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi @btinavc

I hope everything is going smoothly for you. I just wanted to touch base and inquire if you had the opportunity to review my previous response as it has been some time since we last heard from you.

I am very frustrated. I added the snippet and it crashed my site.

No one has ever answered my question about the year not showing on the plug in event list for 2024 events. I emailed a screen shot in a reply. I cannot add it here.

As I have tried to explain, I can create a new event but clicking view gets 404 not found. My calendar pages display the monthly grid but no events. IT says there are no events to show.

How can I tell if I have caching?

    Hi @btinavc

Unsuccessful migration of events to the New Event Data system sometimes causes 404 errors (and in your case the 2024 events). By re-doing the migration process, the issue can be fixed and you will be able to access all your events smoothly.

As always, please do this first on a staging version of your live site to avoid unnecessary downtime in your live site.

In addition, you can try to deactivate temporarily your caching plugin and/or server-side caching and see if that resolves the issue. If it does, please see our knowledgebase article for the recommended configurations.

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/guide/caching-with-the-events-calendar/

I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

What migration? I have not done anything other than install updates, ever.

When I go to Events>Settings I do not have a tab for Upgrades and cannot find any option for upgrades

    Hi @btinavc

    Thanks for your message.

When I checked your event’s REST API, I could not see any upcoming events for 2024. This means the events you created were not properly saved to your Database. Have you tried re-publishing the event that has the issue, and see if that helps?

Usually, when this happens, re-doing migration will help resolve the issue. By adding the snippet on step #6 will allow you to see the Upgrade tab from the Events > Settings page.

Please follow this steps in re-doing the migration:

As always, please test this first on your staging site to avoid unnecessary downtime.

I have The Event Manager Version 6.3.3.1

I tried opening the 3 2024 events I have and clicking update. Does that constitute re-publishing?

    No help.

    (@d0153)

    Hi @btinavc

I’m sorry for any confusion regarding the migration process. To clarify, if you previously had version 5.x.x and updated it directly to the latest version 6.3.3.1, you will need to perform the migration process. This is necessary to ensure a smooth and seamless transition to the updated version.

If you’re not seeing the Upgrade tab from the Events > Settings page, you either already migrated previously or don’t need to migrate anymore. However, to confirm if this issue is not related to any missing tables from the database, re-doing the migration process would be the best step to take in the meantime. To do this, please follow the steps provided in my previous reply. As always, please test this first on a staging version of your live site.

I tried opening the 3 2024 events I have and clicking update. Does that constitute re-publishing?

Clicking Update button will re-publish the event. If it doesn’t help, please try re-doing the migration process as mentioned above.
