New favicon instead of wordpress 3.4 favicon

    Hello there,

    I’m working on a wordpress for a music band and I have some troubles with the favicon.

    I installed wordpress 3.4.1 and it comes with a wordpress favicon.
    I installed a new one, uploading the pic and adding the code in header.php to make it works.

    But when the page loads, it shows the good favicon and when it’s finished loading the original wordpress favicon is back.

    I’ve looked around but I didn’t find anything about that !

    Could someone help me please ?

  • First, you might want to make the link /favicon.ico so it always looks in the root.

    Second, it looks like on line 25 (of the source code as I’m viewing it) there is code calling for the WP favicon. Remove that and you should be fine.

    Thanks you Cindy Otty !!

    It’s works. This line was defined in an other file inside the admin folder of the theme so I wouln’t had the idea to go there !!
