New Gravatars not generating

    Hi,

    Just recently my Gravatars stopped working.

    Users who already had Gravatars generated still appear on the frontend, but any new user is not being assigned a Gravatar.

    The Setting section also shows blank examples.

    This is what the dashboard shows – Settings Gravatar

    Any ideas?

    I suspect theme or plugin influence as the cause. As a test and to narrow down the cause, switch to Twenty Twenty-one theme and deactivate all plugins. Avatars should now appear correctly. Restore your theme and plugins, one at a time, until the problem returns. The last activated will be the cause.

    I just tried what you suggested and discovered that Nextend Social Login was the cause.

    Specifically, they have a setting to store avatars (presumably in their own db). When I disabled it, all my Gravatars showed up again.
