new here can any one help

    I had someone build my site and all was OK before I did something really stupid, I updated a plugin I think, not totally sure what I did I just know I did an update, on my site there is three columns the first one is fine but the second and third do nothing when you click on it, also at the top of my page it has a blank part with more ?” /> on it. I spoke to the person who built it he asked for payment, which was only 25.00 but its been three weeks and he is not replying and nothing has changed, so I wanted to see if this is anything I can sort out myself, if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it my website is https://www.annemariekell.com i am OK using the site in general but have no clue on how to fix things.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress 3.0.4.

    i have just done that and its cleared something as the links work now, i just need to get that black bar off the top of the page now thank you so much esmi xx

    That black bar is the Admin bar. You can remove it from your view of the site via your Profile.

    not very sure if this is the correct soln or not but i figured out your more problem. Just go to your main html file or corresponding header.php and remove this line more ?" /> immediately after the body tag.

    For problems like this and if you know CSS use firebug or chrome’s developer tools. They hardly cost anything and learning them is fun.
