New image uploading problem

    After years of the WordPress media file uploader working perfectly and without my having changed any settings anywhere, I suddenly find I can no longer upload anything to my WordPress weblogs.

    This started to happen on two Windows 7 computers at about the same time, and the problem arises in much the same way with any of web browsers I have installed – that is, Firefox, Chrome and Explorer. It also doesn’t matter whether I use the Flash uploader or the browser uploader – I still can’t upload even quite small files. What seems to happen is that the uploads start, then stall, and then stop dead before they are complete.

    I’d like to think it’s all due to some rogue Windows 7 or Flash upgrade and will be sorted out shortly – but I now doubt something like that is the issue, as I’m not picking up messages from other people saying the same thing.

    I should add that I can’t attach files to my Googlemail emails either, and that sometimes I can’t attach files to emails in my Thunderbird mail…

    I’ve also rebooted all the networking gear around the house and checked the broadband speeds, which seem fine.

    So this one has me beat. If anyone out there has any ideas what might have suddenly changed please, I would be most grateful!

    I’ve just tried again, and uploading is still not working.

    Could this be a plugin or ISP issue – or worse have I been hacked?
