Hello! This plugins seems to be the most solid for webp conversion. Unfortunately, I can only do manual conversions for the images. That’s what I did for conventing the heaviest images in the home. But I tried in a test for a new post (draft mode) and the image is not converted.

I tried inserting the image in the post creation, and uploading another different directly in media library, with same result, no conversion: https://i.imgur.com/hSbSFC9.png

If I do it manually, clicking on the select “Optimize now”, it works: https://i.imgur.com/7KBL29N.png

    These are my general settings:

    These are my advanced settings:

    Hi @danielgc,

    Thank you for your message.

I will try to help you, but for this I need additional information. Please follow the steps below:

    1. In the plugin settings, in the Advanced Settings tab, enable the “Enable the service mode” option in the “Extra features” field.
    2. Go to Media Library and upload a new image.
    3. Check if this image has been optimized automatically.
    4. Take a screenshot of the Help Center tab from the plugin settings – more specifically, the table with the “Options” header from this page.
    5. Send me this screenshot.

    Best,
    Mateusz

Thank you Mateusz, here you have the screenshots. The plugin wasn’t able to automatically convert the uploaded file.

    @danielgc Thank you!

It looks like cURL requests (https://www.php.net/manual/en/book.curl.php) to your domain are blocked on your server. The following error is received: “Failed to connect to … port 443: Connection refused”. Please contact your server administrator and report this problem. This is some kind of problem with the security firewall being too restrictive or incorrectly configured.

Thank you, Mateusz, it’s weird because port 443 is open ?? any idea? I will look for myself too.

@danielgc Unfortunately, it’s hard for me to say what the source of the problem may be. I haven’t encountered such an error yet – I haven’t received a similar report. But if you manage to find a solution, I will be grateful for your feedback.

OK, don’t worry, I appreciate your sincerity, let’s see how much chatgpt can help me, I will keep you updated.

@danielgc Please contact your hosting support, not ChatGPT. This is a serious issue that requires a change to the server configuration.

Don’t worry I only use chatgpt for beginning the research. If I wait for the hosting support, it would take too long, and guess what, I found it and fix it already. All I had to do is to apply this fix https://justwebu.com/solved-curl-error-7-failed-to-connect-to-domain-com-port-443-connection-refused-vestacp.html and now it’s working (not that I’m using vestacp but the curl problem was the same, the failing in the loopback).

    Best regards,
