I read in the notifications the following wording:”as there have been changes in the permalink structure, some of your SEO data needs to be processed again.We estimate this may take a long time due to the size of your site. Instead of waiting, you could:Wait about a week, until Yoast SEO has processed most of your background content. Remind me in a week.
    Run the indexing process on your server using the WP CLI    ”

    what I wanted to know is: won’t this update change my links in articles already published online? I’m afraid it destroys my sweaty positioning over the years.

    We can confirm that running the SEO data optimization won’t affect anything with your existing page’s links at all. All the existing page’s links will remain as expected.
