I’m new here, but not new to the internet and not technologically retarded. But I really need some help cause I’m about to bash my brains in………I’ve tried everything I can stinkin’ find. This is a bit long, so I apologize but I need to explain what I’ve done so far cause it’s gonna be asked anyways.

I originally installed WP from Fantastico, was feeling kinda lazy. Maybe that’s what started this, I don’t know. I’m on a host that allows you to use unlimited domains. I’ve got 8 on there and they all have their own directory. I did the install into the folder of one of my domains, which is itself in the public html folder (I guess you would say a subfolder in public html). After the original install, I could log in at the admin screen and see pages just fine in the admin area except for one thing……they were pure white and ugly as sin with all the links in blue off to the left side. So I tried to activate a theme. No go….said the theme was activated but the same ugly white page with blue links, even when I cliked ‘view blog’. Uploaded a new theme and tried that one….same thing.

So I uninstalled it. Read a tonne of help files and decided to download the files and upload them myself. I first made sure the old database was deleted and then created a new one, step by step. That went ok. I then had issues with the ftp client about half way through. I noticed some of the files were not getting transferred properly. So I went through cpanel and checked the files of the WP install in the directory I uploaded it to. Lo and behold….lots of missing files. So I checked every single folder and transferred all files that were missing from the original WP file I downloaded, even counted them and opened them to make sure they’re intact. Done.

I then went to the install screen as directed, looked fine and dandy…..got up the screen that asks for your email address and generates your PW….was still ok. Went to the admin login page. Back to the ugly white page with nasty blue links on it.

So I went and followed the directions exactly of using phpMyAdmin and made sure everything was there that was supposed to be such as siteurl and home. No problems there as far as I could tell. It wasn’t a blank page anyways.

Could it simply be that the CSS file is not finding my blog? All of the CSS files are there though….sigh……

I have checked and rechecked every file on my host and read every help file I could since yesterday. I can’t get this worked out. I’ve already checked the forums, Google, etc and read tonnes but none of it is resolving my issues. I’m getting very close to just dropping WP and using something else. It’s not worth the stress.

Does anybody else have any other suggestions other than what I’ve already done? I would greatly appreciate anything! Thank you!
