• Hello,
I had 2 instances of wordpress each with a different database, Instance A is an old one and instance B is new. I want to completely remove instance A and make instance B as the default site.. How do I do this?
With the hosting people support(GoDaddy), they suggested me to delete the instance A and the corresponding database (I knew this was not the right way) and I did. But still the website is pointing to instance A..
Now I have completely removed the instance A and its db..but still the website shows shows only instance A…please help.

    Appreciate the support..

  • Are you saying that you want to overwrite site A with site B? Or are you migrating site B to site A? I’m confused on exactly what you are trying to do. Can you post a link to your site?

    Hello graphical_force,
    Site A is http:/decor1events.com
    Site B is http:/decor1events.com/decor-one-wp/

As mentioned earlier I have removed site A but still shows up.

I would like to overwrite site A with site B..but I am fine overwriting or migrating which ever is the best route, but need steps to do it.

Get rid of everything from Site A and then migrate Site B to http:/decor1events.com.

If you have removed Site A, it should not be showing up. Although, just because it is removed it will not show http:/decor1events.com/decor-one-wp/ since that is a different url.

    Hello graphical_force,
I went to Manage applications and removed the installed wordpress Site A, also went to the db and removed it. But it still shows up, I do not know from where it is still pulling? Any insight on that will be very helpful for me to go to the next step..
Understand your point that site A and site B are of different URL.

Clear you browser cache and make sure the domain is pointing to the correct server. If it’s not there then you should not be seeing it. If in doubt, get in touch with godaddy. I do know that there has been issues with their hosting and WordPress. A quick google search will let you know that most recommend not using their hosting for wp but that is a different issue from this.
