New interface needs expand all option

    I appreciate the work that has gone into the new interface. However, as a producer who has a website with multiple podcasts and feeds for video/audio, and a highly customized web site, this new interface makes it more difficult to input information.

    The single biggest issue with the new interface is that none of the fields to input information is available until AFTER you have input a URL.

    My normal workflow is adding the title to the post, audio feed, video, feed, and social poster. The post title for each episode on my website excludes the show name. However in the 3 other areas that the title is used, it must include the show name. So I end up copying the title into 4 fields.

    Furthermore it takes an additional click to access the area where the title can be customized now in Powerpress once the URL is added. This just makes my entire process longer, and more difficult to create a post.

    There needs to be an option where ALL fields are visible as they were before v8.2.

  • I agree the new layout is definitely not as intuitive as the old layout. I have been trying to figure out where to put my link to for the iTunes Poster Image? I use it in the feed going to my mobile App. Is there any possibility you could point me in the right direction for that sunkast? Thanks

    I’m assuming you mean the “iTunes” image for the episode. The “poster image” only shows up for Video content.

    Those options show up AFFTER you uplaod or link your media and click continue.

    I think we missed your question with the 2nd one that was posted.

    We did this because if you never put a URL in the field and then click ‘save’, nothing will be saved. We save the podcast meta information in the same field as the media file and if the media file is blank, then there is nothing to save unfortunately. We have had a discussion this week following the release what we can do, we may make an option to continue to show the episode options with a global setting.

    Have you had any other issues other than this?

    The only other issue I have experienced was removing an episode. However according to the change log for the latest version, that appears to be resolved.

    Having a global setting to show all the episode options would be great.
