    Hi,

    I’m entering the shortcode [yasr_overall_rating] in the main body of a blog post in the classic editor in WordPress version 5.2.3.

    When I preview my post, my text appears immediately to the right of the stars and not below, on a new line.

    How can I get my text to start on a new line so that it’s underneath the stars? I’ve tried “enter”, shift “enter”, <p> and <br> but my text always appears immediately to the right of the star rating.

    Any help would be welcome!

    With many thanks,

    Paul

    Hi!

    Can you please share a link where Yasr is active?

    I’ve take a rapid look to the site but I can’t find it.

    Best,

    Hi Dario,

    Many thanks for your quick reply. Here’s the link:

    The issue is towards the end of the post, just underneath the bullet points.

    The text in the classic editor is:

    But that aside…

    • Time travel – excellent!
    • Writing quality – excellent!
    • Humour – excellent!
    • Genre – Historical fiction for someone who doesn’t like history – yes I liked this!

    [yasr_overall_rating]

    5 stars! ??

    (Incidentally, I’ve also tried using the “Yasr shortcode button” displayed by the “Add media” button in the editor but that didn’t insert anything at all, so I’m pasting the shortcode directly myself).

    Many thanks in advance!

    About the button in the “add media” try to switch between “visual” and “text” tab, if still don’t work you may have some javascript error in your backend.

    It is pretty strange that if, in the editor, you insert some text below the shortcode it still to go next the stars instead of in a newline.

    However, try to add this code in Yasr Settings, “aspect and styles” tab and and then in “Custom CSS Styles” textarea:

    .yasr-overall-rating {
    display: inline-block;
    }

    Let me know!

    Brilliant brilliant brilliant! Thanks so much! ??

    Yes, switching to the visual tab makes the button work, and with your CSS my text is now underneath the stars!

    5 stars for Darius and YASR! ??

    (on my way now to wordpress to rate you!)

    With kindest wishes,

    Paul
