New Multisite Internal Server Errors

New WPMU on GoDaddy, installed “by the book” (e.g., updated wpconfig, htaccess). I’m using Paths not Subdomains.

When I create sites, I receive an Internal Server Error when I try to access Dashboard, New Post, Manage Comments. Visit Site takes me to the site but without a Theme, though I can peruse the pages.

Would appreciate any help here. I’ve reinstalled abou 5 times now to be sure I’m doing everything as written. This is kicking my butt.
