  • I don’t understand the question – are you saying you want to change the name of the page from something to about? You can have the page called something as the title, but there is a box called the SLUG (is this true for pages, I never chcked) and that will be the name that is displayed in the URL. So if your page is “about” you can call the slug goat and goat will display in the URL, if you change it to about it will be about.

But I don’t understand the question to be honest

When you create a new page in WP, it creates a url for that page.

I guess what I am asking is how do i make sure that my About page is https://www.mydomain.com/about.

    1) do you have permalinks enabled?
    2) do you have htaccess write access – this should be set to 666 via CHMOD

do 1 and 2 and it should display as requested. To find out more about 1 and 2 do a search, or view the codex codex.www.ads-software.com

Thank you Jinsan. I had to adjust my permalink structure.

I’m new to all this stuff.

    Thank you again!

no problem, check out hte codex for typical questions on tags, permalinks etc, the forum is also good but if you do’nt find the search useful you can use google to search for wordpress items in here ??

I felt helpless doing a search in codex since I didnt know what exact term I was looking for.

it is difficult it’s still a work in progress esppecially when you don’t what something is called. I recommened reading the first few articles about WP what it’s functions are, what things are called and so on and play around with it, get to learn it.
