• Hi all,
I am newbie and trying to learn as much as I could. Actually, I want to create number of pages. But as soon as I have launched the site, I posted new posts on the root folder. Now I want to create number of pages and move these old posts according to their categories.
How can i achieve this situation? OR please suggest some new way of doing this.

    Thank You

I’m not at all sure what you mean that you “posted new posts on the root folder”. For your WP site, you will do everything related to creating pages & posts in the dashboard, and it shouldn’t involve any files and folders.

POSTS are like “blog posts”– articles that reside in a dated structure, usually displaying in reverse-chronological order. PAGES are like posts, but they reside outside that dated structure. These are individual pages of a website, but unlike previous HTML sites that you may have worked with, they don’t really exist as separate files.

Posts can have categories, but pages don’t (at least by default).

If you originally created posts, but want to change those posts into pages, the simplest thing to do is to copy & paste the content. You can switch to the text editor tab and copy all the code, and this will move your images and everything. Then set your category at the same time.
