I am creating my site with the WAMP server and the Atahualpa theme. I am experiencing two problems.

None of my pages will show. I get the 404 message.
The “Hello World” title still shows even though I changed it.

I don’t know if this is a bug in the theme or a database problem.

  • Its not a theme bug.

If content remains the same after you change it, either you need to clear your browser cache, you are viewing a different page/post than the one you are changing, or you are looking at a page in a different database or site.

404’s are often related to permalinks issues, or the WP or Blog address in Settings / general not being configured correctly. Set your permalinks back to default and see what happens. Settings / Permalinks

    Thanks. That worked.

I changed the permalinks back. I guess I will have to live with the ugly confusing permalinks page addresses.

I have two other WordPress sites and could change the permalinks without a problem. But someone else (experts) installed them for me.

    Hi

Now that you have the site working again you can try using a custom permalink again. If it works for you, use one of the pre-defined custome permalinks. I generally use a custom one of /%postname% which adds just the cleaned up title of the post or page to the URL.

You can always go back to default if your attempts create a problem again.
