New Paragraph added after end label with Contact Form 7

After each checkbox, I list the role name such as “House Manager”, then a hyphen and then a link with text “info?” which goes to an anchor in the page where it describes the House Manager.

Here’s the code:

<label>[checkbox your-Interest-HouseMgr "House Manager|Y"]</label> - <a  href="/volunteer/signup/roles/#HouseManager" target="_blank">Info?</a>

But I keep getting a line break after the </label> at the hyphen/minus.

I’ve tried disabling other plugins etc, but nothing fixes this. I’ve tried some solutions for eliminating paragraphs in CF7 such as https://www.binarycarpenter.com/how-to-stop-contact-form-7-from-adding-p-tags-around-elements/ but they do not work either.

Am I doing something wrong?
