Hi @pleiades, sincere apologies for the hassle. There are two ways to resolve:

    1. If you have FTP or Hosting File Manager access, go to /wp-content/plugins/ and delete the siteorigin-panels folder.
    2. Go to Plugins > Add New and re-install Page Builder in WordPress. We’ve rolled back the stable tag so you’ll be downloading the previous version.

    OR

Contact your hosts or use cPanel or similar access and increase your PHP version to anything in version 7.

The error you’re seeing happens only in older versions of PHP 5 which we missed in testing. That’s completely on us but it would be awesome if you ran a higher version of PHP. PHP 7 is recommended for WordPress.

We tested up to PHP 5.6 so even that should be fine but if your hosts can move you to PHP 7+, that’s ideal.

Hi @pleiades, a quick follow-up to see if you’ve made any progress, either upgrading PHP or rolling back.

Are you going to be resolving this problem with a new update to Page Builder? We’ve had the same problem as @pleiades on one of our websites, not yet on others which use the Site Origin plug-in. Thanks.

Hi Rick, thanks for posting and sorry for the hassle. We’ve rolled the stable tag back, this means that the update has been recalled. Tomorrow we’ll resolve the issue and then release the update again. If you do have a moment to mail your hosts or login to cPanel or similar, changing from PHP sub 5.6 to PHP 7+ is really worthwhile. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

@banjorick, it sounds like you’ve resolved the challenge on the first site you mentioned, if not, please let us know so we can assist. Thanks.

Thanks. We’ll so the PHP thing, but is version 2.7.3 the one which will work or is it the one with the problem and we should wait to update after tomorrow?

    (@misplon)

That’ll be great and will help mitigate challenges in the future from all plugins and themes and the core.

2.7.3 is stable and was released on the 20th of July. See: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/siteorigin-panels/#developers or https://github.com/siteorigin/siteorigin-panels/releases. 2.8.0 is the version with the sub PHP 5.6 incompatibility.

Hope that helps. We’re here if any further questions arise. Thanks for your support.

Hi. I have made the recommendation to update the PHP version and the plugin still does not work. Do i have to do something else?
    Thanks

    Hi marcos,

Are you experiencing the same error message? I ask as I suspect you may be facing a slightly different issue.

I do not see any error in the panel. The content entered in the plugin simply does not appear. Look: https://www.piensospara.com/

    Hi marcos,

Unfortunately, the issue you’re facing is different to the other people in this thread. Can you please create a new thread? This will allow others who have similar issues to find related posts easily and allow us to help you without notifying the other posters in this thread.

    Hi @pleiades

I’ll be closing this topic for the moment because we haven’t heard back in a week. If you have any follow-up questions, please let us know and we’ll lend a hand.

    All the best.

Thanks @misplon, That did solve the problem.

I’m sorry it took so long to get back to you. The client is currently hosted on Hostgator, who apparently is unable or unwilling to upgrade to PHP 7. We’re in the process of moving them to a new host.

Thanks for letting us know. If you’re able to login to cPanel, can you perhaps look at the PHP options available to you as shown here: https://support.hostgator.com/articles/php-configuration-plugin.
