• Hi,
The last 6 episodes we’ve published through blubrry to iTunes have had the wrong date associated with them (all of them 1-1-2000) so they’re not being automatically downloaded by our listeners.

Can someone help us to fix this issue?
    Thanks

What’s the URL of the podcast feed?

If you log into your site right now and create a new post, what does the publish date look like?

If you go into one of the posts on the site with wrong dates, can you update them to the desired date?

(Sorry for the duplicate reply. The WordPress forum had a hiccup while it was posting my reply and there’s no option to delete this.)

    Hi Shawn,
This is the rss feed we’re using to push to iTunes

    https://ukprogressive.co.uk/feed/podcast

Dates look correct on the feed and dates correct on the post itself. Just seems to be iTunes that’s not setting the date correctly.

    Hello @lobsterdm,

Can you be more specific where you see this date problem on iTunes? I am looking at the listing and the dates look correct for your episodes. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-three-muckrakers/id927857165?mt=2 It may be an app specific issue, not necessarily with iTunes podcast directory.

As for the automatic downloading, iTunes does not use the date but the GUID value in your feeds. As long as you create brand new blog posts for each episode, the GUID will be brand new indicating to iTunes that you have a new episode. Do not use blog post cloning plugins for creating new episodes as they may copy the GUID value which would cause such a problem.
