I just set up a new blog via download from www.ads-software.com, no plugins installed, imported posts from another vanilla (no plugins) blog, and the add/edit post page is being weird. Going to ‘add new post’, all of a sudden the left nav pulldown menus don’t work, and none of the # anchor reference links work (e.g.#edit_timestamp, #status, etc.)

Tested with FF3, FF5, Safari and latest chrome.

Tried it with visual editor disabled as well.

    Anyone duplicate this issue?

  • Have you tried re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress? Have you checked the minimum hosting requirements – especially the PHP version?

Good thought, but I just reinstalled from scratch, still same problem.
    MySQL Server: 5.1.55
    MySQL client version: 5.1.45
    PHP 5.3.6

    Should work, no?

And this is without any import of anything from the old site – just 2 step install of 3.2 fresh on a new site.

Are you running any other WP 3.2 installs on that server?

I have the same problem and same version of PHP. Also did a fresh install.

    Same server configuration?

    @esmi – one other wp 3.1.4, and this broken 3.2 install – that’s it.

same problem with add new post …. cant write any thing , cant add tags ,i install health check and my server have enough for running how to fix this ???

FYI, i’m having this issue as well from another user. And this is a STOCK install, no plugins, default TwentyEleven theme, one single post.

Now when I go into to add a new post, or edit an existing post the visual editor is not working properly. The text is not visible, but when the area is highlighted it displays as html.

Do you see any JS errors? Sounds like something may be replacing the version of jQuery that comes with 3.2, or perhaps some JS files didn’t update properly.

I just checked and /wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js is 1.6.1 – i haven’t done anything other than downloaded WP 3.2 and installed it and then logged in and tried to edit the default post.

Is there any way for me to send admin userid & pass?

It sounds like JS is not working. Are there any JS errors? Perhaps they will point to what’s wrong.

I enabled Firebug to look for JS errors and I got this – does it help?

    switchEditors is not defined

I get that error when attempting to click on the ‘HTML’ link in the visual editor.

Is that the only error? This is part of the wp-admin/js/editor.js file. Perhaps upload a fresh copy of it?
