New post won’t save featured image and category

  • Hi,

    This is the weirdest thing I’ve encountered so far. I have a WordPress site (part of a network) and when I attempt to create a new post, after completing the fields (title, content, etc.) after hitting publish, the category and featured image are left blank.

    Everything else is saved, but the category is unchecked and the feature image is removed.

    However, if I save a draft first and then publish the post, the featured image and category are saved just fine.

    I’ve tried disabling plugins and changing theme to default. Has anyone else has experienced this behavior?

    Just a quick update. After a post is published and things go as described (featured image and category deleted), if I change the status of the published post to draft and then hit publish again, the category and image are saved.
