Yes you are right! I was testing it as well and wanted to report, but you were first.

He needs to add a new option that if you don’t check ReCaptcha, you get a message: “Please check the box”

Same problem here. I hope Takayuki reads this and changes the message you get when you don’t check the recaptcha box from “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.” to something that makes sense to users.

FYI, I found a temporary solution which is only applicable on a form-by-form basis.

Very interesting idea, I’ve never changed those defaults! ??

First I tried changing the “sender’s message was failed to send”, and that didn’t work, but then I changed “Submission was referred to as spam”, and that did get triggered by the blank reCaptcha. But it doesn’t highlight the missing field, though, so I’m still in favor of an actual code change. ??

You’re right. If you want something seamless now, I’ve been using this very nice plugin, WordPress ReCaptcha Integration. It works great with CF7, and you just mark the field required as usual, and it gives the normal error handling.

Yeah, it adds an extra item in the CF7 menu. (there are other reCaptcha plugins that do that, too, I think).

As I recall, I think it works fine with the latest CF7, but I’m not absolutely sure.
