    Hello BNFW,

I’m trying to rewrite the New Registered Users email using your plugin however having some difficulties. So I have a membership website where people can register into the site. WordPress sends the default email:

    ————————————————————-
Subject: [[wordpress@website]] Your new account information

    Welcome to [website]

    You user name is: [username]
    ————————————————————-

When I try to override the default wordpress email with you plugin, I go and create a new notification email. I select notification for: New User Registration – For User.
I then select the “Insert Default Content” button where it gives me the following:

    ————————————————————–
Subject: global_site_title Your username and password info

    Username: [user_login]
To set your password, visit the following address: [password_url]
    ————————————————————–

Now I noticed that this isn’t the same as I got from the default wordpress email. Is there something disconnected, or am I missing something?

Hope we can figure this one out, I’ve already been at it for hours reading if I missed something.

    Hi @shkaitmyueas,
    Thanks for your message.

You’re not missing anything. Basically, in order to make it easy to get started using BNFW, i’ve added a button that inserts the default subject and message body from the WordPress default emails but replacing the dynamic content with the appropriate BNFW shortcodes. Unfortunately, there’s no automated way for me to check this if WordPress changes or updates the default text in core so I have to check manually. I haven’t checked for a few months now so it seems they may have changed the default text in a recent update.

    Does this help?

Any ideas where I can find the default text and would I be able to overwrite the email with BNFW plugin? I also wanted to make sure if I copied the default wordpress email template, and click the disable option within BNFW, would that disable the email?

    Hi @shkaitmyueas,
The default text will be store in core somewhere. If you download a fresh copy of WordPress from www.ads-software.com and then search inside the folder for the string “Your new account information”, you should be able to find the contents of the original message.
I’ll make sure I update the default content in the next version of the plugin too.

If you create a notification, even if blank, and set it to ‘Disabled’ in BNFW, that should disable it, yes.

    Hi @shkaitmyueas,
I’ve just looked through the latest version of WordPress for those strings and I can’t find them anywhere. The ‘Insert Default Content’ button in the latest version of BNFW seems to be inserting the correct information.

It’s possible that a plugin you’re using is overriding the default notification content or, if you’re using an older version of WordPress, this may have had different wording.

Thank you! Do you know what the file is called that is composed of these wordpress email templates? I downloaded a copy of wordpress and looking for what you may be talking about.

    Hi @shkaitmyueas,
They’re scattered throughout the core files. I’ve found them in many different files. Some of them were in users.php.

    Hope this helps.
