    Just switched from Dreamhost to HostICan, who installed a fresh copy of WordPress on their server (ver 2.1.3)
    I want to activate the Akismet plug-in, but am not sure if I can use my old API number, or if I have to get a new one.

    The wordpress.com./api/keys page says if I already have an API key it will show up on my “profile page” but when I go there, no API key is listed.

    Does that mean I have to re-sign up to get a new API number? And if so, how do I do that, because that sign-up page won’t let me proceed using my present email address (I just tried it, and it gave me an error message that says: “Sorry, that email address is already used?”)
