    Hi,

I just saw the note “Flexible Shipping group method is no longer supported.”

No issue with that, but where/how can I import CSV tables into the new “single version”?

Even though it says that the old version will be disabled from 1st May, the CSV upload function obviously has already been disabled.

Please tell me, that there will soon be an upload/import option again, or at least a work-around.

  • Hi,

thank you for your message. We moved the import/export function to the external plugin that is available in our Flexible Shipping shop.

We noticed, that mostly our users used to use import/export to upload the system the scenarios from the documentation. To provide them a better experience, we implemented the ready-to-use scenarios function that is available near the rules configuration table instead import/export function. We discovered a lot of potentially advanced functions which are would help our customers to administrate their e-commerce shops (for example better construction of exported .csv file for easy, multiple changes), that’s why we separate them into the new plugin.

Hope I have made it clear to you. Feel free to ask further questions.

    Best regards,

    Thank you for the reply.
You could have mentioned that you charge 49$ now for the Import/Export function. It was the reason that I chose your plugin, so now you lost me.

I understand that some extra features are only offered in an extra Pro-version.

But first offering a function in the free version and later taking it away and charge money for it, that’s not cool.

    Hi @giraffe75,

The Flexible Shipping free version you can download here included only the import option. The export feature was available from the start only in the PRO version.

I suppose I may reveal some details here – according to our research and the feedback we received, the 97% Flexible Shipping free users who used the import option used it to import the pre-made shipping scenarios from the CSV files downloaded from our docs at https://docs.flexibleshipping.com/category/24-ready-to-use-scenarios.

That’s why, in order to make it all easier and more user friendly we’ve decided to implement the ready-made scenarios library in the Flexible Shipping free version which allows to apply a defined set of rules just in a few clicks instead of much more complicated importing it from an external CSV file.

What’s more we’ve been notified that some of you would like to use both, the import and export functionality also in the Flexible Shipping free version for more advanced carriers’ pricing tables management. Therefore, we concluded to simply split this functionality into a separate plugin – Flexible Shipping Import / Export which both – Flexible Shipping free and Flexible Shipping PRO users, will be able to use as an add-on.

So, the CSV import functionality the Flexible Shipping free version offered before was in fact reforged into more user friendly and more approachable form of ready-made & easy-appliable scenarios.

We strongly believe the changes we’ve introduced will significantly improve the customer experience and make the plugin much easier to use.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Kind regards,
    ?ukasz

Thank you lusp, for the information.

You wrote: “…Flexible Shipping Import / Export which both – Flexible Shipping free and Flexible Shipping PRO users, will be able to use as an add-on”.

Am I correct, that this add-on is not yet available, but will be soon enough (before May 1)?

    Explanation:
I have about 30 different CSV tables (with about 30 entries each), which I need to import into your Flexible Shipping plugin. I have designed these 30 tables only for your plugin. After understanding how it works, this was a very effective and time saving solution, since the values in the tables can not be calculated. I need to be able to prepare each table externally and use them several times. The simple CSV upload function of the old version was perfect for that.

So will I be able to do exactly that with the new add-on (for free)? And where will I be able to find and add this add-on?

I’m happy to wait, if this function will be made available again (included or external via add-on).

    Thank you very much!

    Hi @giraffe75,

I’m sorry, maybe I haven’t put it into words unambiguously. I meant the Flexible Shipping Import / Export add-on/separate plugin available at flexibleshipping.com which @przemekproszowski mentioned before. It is compatible with Flexible Shipping free and Flexible Shipping PRO so both groups of users can use it according to their needs.

However, this forum is dedicated only to the free versions of our plugins and we are not supposed to discuss here about the premium ones. In case you need some more information about Flexible Shipping Import / Export plugin please contact us directly at https://flexibleshipping.com/support/.

    Kind regards,

So you could have just answered that what I said was correct:

    1. The new version of the plugin DOES NOT offer any import or upload function anymore.

    2. To be able to import/upload a table into the plugin, one needs to BUY another add-on (for 49$).

So for me your plugin is of no use anymore and I have spend days of work (to prepare my 30 CSV tables) in vain!
