I created a network installation. When creating a new site as subdomain, it cannot be found: every choice as network admin results in ‘page not found’. I changed .htaccess and wp-config according to WordPress instructions. Do I need to post them for someone to have any suggestions what went wrong? I struggled the web to find a solution, but don’t know any further.
Kind regards and thanks for thinking with me, Coen

Have you setup your DNS entried so that the new sites are pointing to your WordPress installation? Your Apache2 vhosts may need updating as well to accept the new host names.

What is in the ServerName or aliases portion of your Apache2 config?

Hi Jan, thank you for mentioning DNS. In the end, my provider created an alias for the subdomain, directing to the domain of the networksite. That seemed to work.
Next step was installing MU domain mapping, and there I was lost again: I didn’t see any Domain Mapping menu item appear.
So, unless anybody has some nice tips, here stops my MU adventure.
    Regards, Coen

Did you network activate the plugin?

The option is under Network Admin -> Settings

Yes, I did, but didn’t look there ??
So, now I got Domain Mapping.
    Put the CNAME in there?
    And which options?
