New site not indexed

  • new site (about two weeks online) that doesn’t seem to be getting indexed. Google doesn’t recognize it and neither does yahoo. Not sure what is going wrong, any ideas?

  • do you allow search engines to see your site in settings->privacy?

    Also, signing up to google’s webmaster tools is helpful
    especially submitting a sitemap, which can be easily created using one of the google sitemap plugins

    setting was correct, thanks.
    is the google webmaster tool necessary or should the site have gotton indexed anyway? Seems that would be more of an added benefit, but most likely have another issue that should be resolved first. ??

    It can take months before some sites are indexed.

    webmaster tools is just helpful. May not be necessary, but sure can’t hurt!
