new site some constructive criticism please

Hi Kevin, you want an honest opinion here’s mine.

1. I don’t think the theme you’ve chosen suits your type of blog for a start. The flowery header is so large and in-your-face it detracts from everything else as soon as the page loads up. I found myself staring at the header for a while wondering if I was in an Art or Photography site before I could get to grips with whatever else you were trying to say. In fact I don’t think you need much of a header for your blog per se, as its appears to be a resource/informational blog.

2. Your blog byline is confusing.. It doesn’t define your whole purpose. For a start ‘How To Make Money’ is very vague.. are we talking about online/offline/through advertising/manual labour/internet/selling fish and chips?… and on and on.. it poses too many questions. I think you need to be a little more specific. ‘A little work and well meaning can go a long way?’ I’m sure you can come up with something more effective.. such as for examples, ‘All you need to know to make money using internet resources’. This tells us EXACTLY what your blog is about in one sentence.

I would try not to overdo the google ads (i.e. both sides of your columns) it can put some readers off. The key here is valuable information/articles/links to constructive articles and links back to yours.

Thank you VERY much for your constructive criticism. Im looking into everything you have said and how i can implement or improve my site with regards to your advice. I already changed a few things sense you last visited and am still working.

For my byline once you pointed that out I felt as if I was a child or immature when I made that. “All you need to know to make money using internet resources” is a great one and im going to implement it until I can come up with a better one. Thanks again and if you want to point out anything else that would be appreciated.

i apologize moderator but it takes a long time to get a response around here and then all of a sudden weeks later you get a bunch of responses! kinda frustrating

It looks really nice. It seems like made by a mature person and it will propably gain good attention. I liked especially the color scheme you had there.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

Only problem I found was that you don’t have any kind of pictures on your site. It looks otherwise great, but few small .jpg’s would take it to another level.

Just a suggestion. ??
