New Soundcloud is Gold 2.3

Don’t bother with 2.3. Please update to 2.3.1 straight away.

Hi Thomas,.. your version 2.3.1 (set to html5, thumbnail 125px with a custom color)suddenly displays a transparent grey overlay color on the artist name, titel with track name and time with a centered “play” symbol. Right-click this layer displays the Adobe Flash Player options 1.execute this plugin or 2.hide this plugin. If you click this ‘play” symbol this layer would just dissapear and it would show the normal graphical status like it always did. I tried to remove it and even asked my Theme developers if they could help.. no luck

Today I updated toward your latest version 2.3.2 but it made your marvelous plugin completely vanish from the Website..?! so I rolled-back my backup.

I already deactivated/activated and fooled around with the settings but that doesn’t help. Latest version of Flash is active.

Any other suggestions?!

Through here I can’t provide any url because the development is continues and not ready for public.

.. btw the visual-graphic-overlay-color bug described above is isolated only using Chrome Web browser via standard PC screen view.

I cannot reproduce the bug.

In chrome, are you setup to not auto load brower’s plugins? Is there a little puzzle piece with a red cross in top URL field (next to the favourite button star)?

That’s strange because on current Chrome version plugins are not supported anymore since 15 Sept 2015 (https://java.com/en/download/faq/chrome.xml)
So probably Flash is the reason why it’s behaving the way it does although I’ve set the param to HTML5(?!)

Concerning the little puzzle piece red crossed that’s not reflecting.

Btw we use SSL, ..is it possible to have the all these icon images https://w1.sndcdn.com/wztWaR8XOf0A_m.png? send over https?! Because of your current -play- icons used the Web page is not https secure displaying.

I can place the images on our server if needed ;P

Sorry, that’s a Soundcloud image, I can’t do anything about it.

Hi Thomas,.. yes ok I understand but you as plugin author maintain & deserve more solid ground about any security issue requests towards SoundCloud(?!)

Pls drop as any sign of any developments because right now your plugin is displaying: “please visit Soundcloud.com to listen to this content” instead.

Do we need to change the general plugin settings or certain settings within the SoundCloud account itself.

I’m sorry but I can’t replicate your issue. This could be related to multiple things. I would suggested reading the FAQs for this plugin. Generally it’s either other plugins, your theme or it could be that your tracks are set as private on soundcloud.

For the theme and plugins, the easiest way to troubleshoot is to switch to the default WordPress theme and disable all plugins, including this one. Re-enable this plugin, or even better, delete it using WordPress dashboard. Reinstall the plugin through WordPress dashboard. Check if it work.

If it doesn’t work it could be either your tracks are set as private or your server settings.

If it does work, re-enable all other plugins, one by one. If it still work, switch back to your custom theme.

Good luck, without being able to replicate your issue I cannot help you unfortunately. I haven’t seen pleople with the same issue as you either so I’m thinking it’s probably what I’ve describe in the above.

Hi Thomas,.. well if you look around here you’ll notice this specifically is not an isolated issue. The problems occured without any new plugins being installed since ever.

It hurst if I need to look for one which works cause we really liked yours as it worked well for a very long time ..

So meantime I need to look for another to replace it but I’ll check back up here to see if I can reinstall Soundcloud is Gold.

I did the full plugin/theme test, as I detailed here. I’m happy to give you admin access to the staging site I linked to in that support post, where the problem is most definitely not caused by a plugin or theme conflict.

It seems to me that because you can’t replicate an issue that a lot of your users are experiencing, an opportunity to investigate it where it is replicable would be really valuable for everyone.

I have your plugin installed on my website but none of my tracks are playing. Instead the message that shows up says “Please visit soundcloud.com to listen to this content.”

I’ve made sure that all tracks are set to public on my soundcloud profile. What other options should I try to get this plugin working?

.. hi @adam & @rksymphony, I was curious which functional graphic output within your SCIG param/setting is actively set and who is your Webhost.

Maybe it is irrelevant but my param is set to show ONE text-line feed, by output of a small PLAY- button which beautifully roll-feed displayed the artist name, songtitle incl. time-duration installed by two steps:
1.active Widget with SCIG option active and set to:Show Artwork (html5 Player), Player Type:mini, Custom Width:100%
2. Soundcloud setting:Default Setting:Show ArtWork (html5Player), Default player type:html5 new!(beta), Default Width: media width:on,thumbnail 125px
Custom Color is also set.

Thomas can you pls confirm that the above setting is right and related graphic output is displaying well at your end if you’d replicate.

You lost me at “within your SCIG param/setting,” but if you and @realtm can figure this out, I salute you.

:)) .. ok well if SCIG equals SoundCloudIsGold do you have the same settings to only display the “less is more” configuration..stripped away from the genuine graphic SCIG player to only display the responsive feed-roll ?!

Hmm well I’m not in anyway attached to the dev. The only thing we can do is to be clear toward the author so he can determine the problem further/deeper.
