New Starter Still needing help

    Hi

    I am very new to all of this and appear to be even less IT savvy than I thought.

    I have set my blog up to show a static home page and have recently published my first blog, however this blog does not appear on my blog page at least from what I can see. I can view it posted in my dashboard but not when I view the site. What do I need to do to correct this.

    Also hoping someone could also help with another question, I log into www.ads-software.com for support forums, with one username and password but then I edit and work on my blog through wordpress.com with another username and password. Did I do something wrong when I set everything up should it not all be in one place.

    Is there someone who can talk me through this so I am clear on what I am doing

    www.ads-software.com, WordPress.com, and your blog are three separate entities, so it’s normal to have three separate accounts. You didn’t do anything wrong there. ??

    I see your latest post on your blog page at https://www.shortladytalltales.com/blog/ were you able to get that fixed?

    Thanks for the reply, that’s good to know about the accounts. Should have researched using WP more before going in all guns blazing! Now I feel like I am dancing in a minefield

    No as far as I am aware it hasn’t been fixed, when I try and view the website on my phone or on my laptop I can only see the post when logged into my dashboard. When I searched via google, or the web address my blog page is showing blank. Is that an issue with my phone and laptop settings?!

    No I don’t I only get the a blank page that’s advised the page is proudly sponsored by word press and what the theme is. I have also cleared my browser history and it has made no difference. I’m at a loss to be honest.

    Browser history or browser cache?

    If history, it’s the cache you want to clear. I can also see your page just fine.

    Both have been cleared and still can’t see anything
    I’m guessing it’s just my phone and laptop if everyone else can see it. I can also see the post if I log in and view my site, it would just be convenient for me to be able to see it as well

    Did you recently change your domain name to point elsewhere or transfer it?

    I would have no idea how to do that so if I did it would be by accident how can I tell if that’s something I have done?

    I now seem to be able to view my post via my phone if I request the desktop site but not on mobile friendly is this something that needs to be aired on the settings?

    Something odd is definitely going on.

    Where are you seeing that?

    Hi James I have just tried to view from my phone again and apparently now I can see it without being logged into WordPress and I can see if from my laptop.
    I can view in both desktop and mobile on my phone.
    Maybe it just takes some time to update makes this very confusing. I appreciate your help though.
    Maybe I should have stuck with keeping my rambles in my head instead of online!
