“New Store” page? Shop Page

No “add to cart” function in Woo commerce. I created pages for each product in WordPress. Also created a shop page and a store page. Its becomes just a blank page. I defined products under the product menu line. But it occurs to me that at no point in creating product images and description under “PAGE” menu did it even ask for a product number. How could it have linked to a product given a number and properites under “product” menu? I was told an ‘add to card button would appear on the page when all was set up. none did. I am clearly missing something crucial. Can anyone help?
