New template from scratch – would love some feedback

  • Hi there. I’ve just spent a week or so building my first wordpress theme from scratch. I’d really appreciate any feedback people have on it.

    I know there’s one validation error at the moment – it arises from putting the flickr badge in twice, and I can’t work out a way round it. Any suggestions would be welcome.

  • at your header, make the links bigger and change it when you hover over them

    alot of whitespace between your post and Welcome area

    in the black area, make the links more obvious that they are links

    Looks good. I’m not myself fond of horizontally split setups, but that caveat out of the way, you’ve done a nice job.

    I’ve always loved that poem!

    I quite like it. Generally speaking I find non-traditional blog formats to be a little confusing to maneuver, at least on first sight, but yours is very easy, interesting and clean.

    Still thinking of something to put between the post and the welcome bit, but it’s always good to have something to work on!
