Okay, got my first blog up and running yesterday BUT the last thing I did was switch themes as I experiment for the perfect motif. Came back to it today to discover this theme has no link to access my admin panel.

How can I access my admin panel to switch out themes again and get to work?

As usual, within minutes of posting to a support forum I get it figured out –

    I’ll probably be back ??

I have the same issue..had a theme-login on one theme..sampled other themes now i cannot access my admin screne. I also tried my original way of login with wp-admin and now that doesn’t work. I’m not so shabby at reading code and was thinking that If I knew which file contained the theme name, maybe I could edit that file by changing the name of the theme back to the one with working login.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

You should have started a new thread really.

Can you access yoururl/wp-admin? if not and the screen is blank, delete or rename the folder of the theme you last activated (by connecting over ftp and finding it in wp-content/themes) and it should revert back to the default theme

    Cubecolour,

I will start a new thread as you suggested however In the meantime I did try renaming the theme folder from Selene to SeleneX and now I get a blank page. I tried myurl/wp-admin and myurl/wordpress and both render the same result… a blank page. When I went back and removed the X..I was back to the Selene theme with no login.

Thanks for trying to help me ??

mmm – weird so the site is displaying in the front end with the theme (without being renamed)? If so and you can navigate through the site what is the actual address shown in the address bar as you navigate from page to page (or post).

If you installed into a directory called ‘wordpress’ so you get pages at myurl/wordpress/pagename you should be able to get to it at myurl/wordpress/wp-admin.

If that doesn’t help, did you add any plugins at the same time as changing the theme? If so and one is misbehaving it usually takes down the both the front & back ends, but renaming the plugins folder deactivates the plugins & gets the site back. I don’t think it sounds like that is the problem in this case.

Not many clues so far to help unravel the mystery of the disappearing login. Can you post the actual URL to the site so I can have a look?
