• Hi all,

I just started getting things ready to build my first website. So far, the actual building part hasn’t been too difficult. I’ve found some very helpful YouTube videos that have gotten me to where I am now (after a bit of a misadventure on wordpress.COM) I’m just stuck on one thing at the moment…

I have a domain name through Google domains, I’m using wordpress to build the site, and I’m going to be hosting it on Bluehost. My question is, how do I connect all these things to work together? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

To link your domain to your host.

    1. Get your DNS settings from Bluehost
    2. Apply those setting to your domain at GoDaddy. (Call them, they will help you through the steps.
    3. On Bluehost you will probably have to use ADD DOMAIN to your hosting account or something simular. This will create a folder in your hosting account where you have your WP files and set your FTP. They should be able to help you also.

You mean Google (where my domain is), not GoDaddy, right?

Something I should add… I’m not much of a computer guy. I know a bit, but the more detail/info anyone has regarding this, the better.

Yes I mean google, my fingers type godaddy by default. Contact support at Bluehost, they should be able to help you set your dns or tell you how.

Thanks! Between your replies and a little Googling, I was able to get it sorted out without even having to call them.
