New to CSS needing help with colour changes…

  • Hi there, I’m completely new to this so any direction you could provide would be great.

    I have just started a blog and have installed a theme but I want to change certain colours – for instance in the menu its black but I want to change it to pink…

    here is my process(please dont hesitate to jump in and tell me where I’m going wrong)

    Inside the appearances menu bar I go to Editor. then there is 2style pages
    Stylesheet
    (style.css)
    Visual Editor Stylesheet
    (editor-style.css)

    in the Stylesheet – I found the menu and hover colour information but when I change the # number to what I want and update it isnt changing on my site. is there something I’m doing wrong??

    This is the part in the stylesheet and the colour is currently in there that I want but its not changing ??

    please help or advise somewhere – where I can read and learn.

  • when I change the # number to what I want and update it isnt changing on my site

    try to clear the browser cache – for instance by pressing ‘CTRL F5’ in windows browsers…

    Thanks for the quick response Alchymyth but no prevail ?? its still saved as the colour I want its just not showing on my actual site.

    can you post a link to your site?

    and indicate which color you want to change?

    someone might have a look at your problem.
