• Hello all

I have a questions about domain names and forwarding.

I have recently purchased a domain name to use with my blog I am able to forward this domain to a webpage. when I forward it to my blog site I can no longer log in.

I searched the forums and found a post about stealth forwarding and I frames and I think this is what I am doing but I am a bit of a newbi here and did not follow the responce given.

It indicated I should point the domain at the server and creat a proper web page problem is I am not sure how to do the.

I am using the space provided by my ISP (plusnet) so previously my blog address was ccgi.greenmeadow.plus.net/blog and I pointed my domain name https://www.jabbering.co.uk to that page.

Can anyone please advise of a solution

    Regards

  • Looks to me like you just have your domain forwarded to your blog address and you are using domain masking. As long as you haven’t changed the actual blog url or home url of your blog in Settings/General (and it looks like you haven’t), then your blog should work.

1.Are you sure you are using the correct username and password to login?
    2. Have you tried to reset your password?
    3. Can you login to your blog when you go there using the real url: https://ccgi.greenmeadow.plus.com/blog

If you can login when connecting to your blog through the real domain, but you can’t when you connect through the forwarded domain, then I would guess the domain masking is causing a problem. You may want to forward the url but don’t mask it.
