New to Installing Plugins

  • Hi,

    I am new to installing plug-ins and am having problems. Specifically I am attempting to add a contact plugin. The directions say to copy the code and paste it into my page/post, etc. However, when I do this, it just displays the HTML code.

    Is there some switch I have to do to place the code in background so it comes out right?

    Thanks for the help. Other tips for installing plugins welcome also.

    You are not providing enough info.

    1) What is the plugin you are using?

    Typically what is pasted into the post is not a bunch of HTML code but a shortcode that looks like this [stuff the plugin tells you goes here]

    When the page is displayed, the plugin replaces what is between the brackets with the necessary code to get the contact form displayed on the page. You are only pasting (with most plugins) a very small shortcode.
