New to Theme – Help with homepage

  • I’m not a developer and not very savy with wordpress. I had an old theme and changed to the twenty seventeen theme. It transferred my menu structure OK including my old homepage. When I clicked home it took me not to the main front page but to my old home page from the old theme. I took that page out so it wouldn’t do this. But now my menu has no home link. How to I put in the menu “home” that will take me back to the main front page with the large header image?

  • Go to your Dashboard, Appearance->Customise->Homepage Settings->Homepage Then pick your page from the dropdown. You need to choose the static page as well.

    Appearance->Menus

    Select the Main Menu in the dropdown for menu to edit. Then add the page which you have made your hope to the menu.
