New To Word Press

  • I am new to wordpress and think that I am making it harder than it should be. I moved from a frontpage site. I want to run it as a website not a blog. I will take any help I can get. Major headaches right now. I know I need to pick a theme, but not sure how to make it work for the content that I have.

  • You can browse through the free or commercial themes until you find one you like.

    If you don’t want the front / homepage to be a blog, then in your admin go to Settings > Reading. Where it says ‘front page displays’, click ‘a static page’, then select the page you want to display on the front of your site. This will make your site less like a typical blog.

    Thanks for your help. I found a theme that I like. Now I have problems just getting it set up the way I want it.
